Kathryn is comprehensively trained on all Pilates Equipment by Balanced Body and professionally certified by the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA). She is trained as a Prenatal Instructor by Rooted Boston.
As a strong believer in continuing education, Kathryn has recently participated in Integral Anatomy and received certifications from Anatomy Trains in Motion, & Slings Myofascial Training Education Part 1. She is currently continuing her education in Slings Myofascial Movement Techniques.
Kathryn is Classically Trained but integrates contemporary movements and insights form science and kinematics in to her teaching . She works deliberately with her clients focusing on precision, alignment, breath, and myofascial health. She believes the Pilates and Myofascial Movement methods offer a modality to gain or regain mobility, balance, control, agility in every body, opening up the increased possibility for spontaneity and joyful activity.
She knows first hand how hard and long rehabilitation can be and how rewarding it is each time you reach a new milestone. Pilates Method was part of her healing program bringing her out of 9 years of debilitating upper back and neck pain. Well guided movement informed by science and medicine was and continues to be a huge part of her pain relief journey. Because of her experience, she is a gentle, encouraging instructor who paces sessions intentionally to help you achieve your goals.
